Holiday days approved? Flight booked? Now you need to get on top of the vacation wardrobe to-dos. Tick T-shirts, swim shorts, sunglasses and a hat off your list – and make sure they’re the cool kind.

Plain black, colour blocked, patterned, floral: swim shorts are the place to express your holiday personality – so choose your vibe.
Classicists might want to consider the Warden, which shout simplicity thanks to their slim cut and muted blue shade. But jetting off is a good time to experiment a little, so maybe you’re looking for something a little more fun – especially if you already have a pair of classic swim shorts. Most frequently thought of as featuring a bold, exotic print (originally thanks to Hawaiian women in the 1920s and 1930s adapting Japanese kimono fabric for use in making shirts), you can now find this relaxed shape with an open collar (known as a camp collar) in a wide range of fabrications and finishes.
